Failed IT policies

If you’re anything like the majority of companies in the world, you have more laptops that you bring with you outside the company, than you have stationary workstations in your offices. You’re probably also very busy. That’s a cocktail that leaves you very vulnerable to lost data due to stolen, broken or lost laptops.

You might try to protect company data by using traditional backup solutions or by implementing IT policies that dictate employees to save data on centralised servers; but fact is that traditional backup solutions aren’t adequate and IT policies are rarely respected by employees

Hard disk and tape backup

Backup on external hard drives is not enough - hard drives eventually fail and are just as exposed to the risk of getting stolen as any computer they are supposed to backup. Also, traditional hard drive and tape backup procedures are complicated and time consuming to enforce, in addition to being expensive and inflexible.

The worst part of it all is that the time, effort and money you put into these traditional backup solutions rarely do anything more than serve as a false sense of security, while cutting heavily into your supply of time and money.
