Strongest Backup & Recovery - Built in the cloud, for the cloud.

Choosing the right platform to protect data from your key SaaS cloud applications can be a difficult task. The applications keep changing at a rapid pace, and the platform you choose must keep up with the latest innovations.

At Keepit, our vision is that in the future, all software will be delivered as a service. Actual predictions (Bessemer, 2020) show that by 2025, the majority of software will be cloud-based.

For that reason, the Keepit platform is built for multiple applications, like Microsoft 365 or SalesForce.com

Keepit’s platform is architected so that all the central features and functionalities are shared across the supported applications & workloads. This means you only need one backup & recovery vendor for protecting all of your cloud data – keeping things simple for you.

Built From Scratch

Keepit is not an ordinary backup technology retrofitted to the cloud. Keepit was designed from the ground up as a cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solution, supporting the future in the cloud by being scalable, flexible, and secure. Built from scratch, Keepit offers customers the best backup and recovery platform, tailored to their specific needs.

User experience has been key in designing the platform. Gone are the days of managing tape rotation schemes, scratch disk volume space, network capacity plans, and ever-outdated backup schedules. Enter the world of a straight-forward 'click to configure' user experience with an underlying automatic and adaptive engine. An engine adapting to your specific needs in the ever-changing environment of the cloud.

Secure by Design

The Keepit platform has been architected with security in mind. We know that customers trust us with their data, and security is paramount to Keepit, constantly adapting the latest security concepts. One of the absolute key pillars of our platform is the object store that prohibits the deletion of any data object or backup set - giving you peace of mind that your data will stay safe.

API

No cloud services without full API. The core of Keepit is based on consuming and transferring data from your applications via APIs. But it doesn’t stop there. Keepit also offers a complete API so that Keepit’s backup and recovery services can be automated and integrated in your environments, depending on your need. Should your business have the need to automate interactions with Keepit - be it audit log analysis using your favorite analysis tools, a quick Power BI interaction, or a script you whip up for something we didn't even think about, then we probably have an API ready for this already.

Removing the complexity – providing simplicity

Simplicity is not a given when it comes to enterprise software. But we know that customers are demanding simple solutions that are easy to use and understand. Every single day, our engineers are striving to change what is complex to make it easy for you to interact with Keepit.

We often hear customers asking: 'Is that it?' after having done the 5-minute set-up of Keepit. The configuration is as simple as that, regardless of the number of users and amount of data in your application. Once configured, the underlying cloud backup engine will automatically and intelligently adapt itself to working with your primary workloads.

Simplicity is key to our design – also when it comes to the user experience. Therefore, Keepit has developed four unique features for you to easily find and recover lost data, making this super simple.

Speed

Speed is everything, and we don’t want you to waste time waiting. Therefore, Keepit was built to provide you with instant online access to everything, from everywhere, at any time.

The search engine allows you to search recursively, through time and space, to find that one document that was lost 'somewhere in accounting at some point in time in the past few years'.

Any dataset, no matter how old, can instantly be accessed at a granular level (meaning single e-mails, single documents, folders and more depending on primary workload). With the click of a button, previously deleted items can be shown to you in the folder you're viewing – simple search features like this make finding items to restore a breeze.

Restore

Any item found during our powerful and intuitive browsing and searching experience can be restored back into the primary dataset with the click of a button. This is what we call the Keepit Universal Restore View.

Depending on the nature of the item, there are more advanced restore workflows possible, too. You may need to complete disaster recovery scenarios or migrate data between users. Or, you may need to restore SharePoint or Salesforce objects that have dependencies – all of which the Keepit platform will natively understand and help resolve for you.

Last but not least, instead of restoring, Keepit allows sending a read-only link to an online version of the data you found. For security purposes, the link can be made time-sensitive and password-protected. This can be a very handy tool to provide to end-users for easy and secure access to their own data, where they can download the right version quickly and get back to work much faster.

Audit Log

We live in a compliance driven world. You need to be able to document retrospectively who did what, and when. In Keepit, the audit log will keep track of exactly this.

The audit log is available both via the user interface and via the API for integrations into third party products such as log analysis tools.

Access Controls

Keepit employs a powerful ACL system allowing for fine-grained control over what specific user roles are able to do in the platform, supporting, for example, enterprises with off-shored support teams and other complex environments.

This ACL system is complemented with a Role Based Access Control system (RBAC) that allows limiting the access to features and application configurations at large; you may have one team managing the Salesforce installation, whilst another team is handling Microsoft 365.

Job Monitor

The powerful job monitor gives you instant insight into how current and past backup jobs have performed, along with data on problems or anomalies.

Keepit will automatically notify you in case significant risks or problems arise with your backup set. In most cases, the adaptive cloud backup engine will successfully work around any intermittent problems, such as transferring data out of the primary workload, but in cases where automation falls short, the system will call for human intervention.

With the Keepit Admin App – a native mobile application available for both on iOS and Android – you can even take the job monitor with you on the go! Download from Google Play or App Store.

Archiving and Data Retention

The purpose-built nature of Keepit allows us to efficiently, reliably, and securely store backup data for as long as you need. We have customers with a 99-year data retention policy, and we take this seriously.

Your entire backup history is always readily available. There are no costs linked to accessing older datasets and no extra delays to access older data, unlike from cold storage or even tape storage.

This is made possible by the unique data life cycle management foundation and storage architecture upon which Keepit is built.

Storage & Security

A central component in Keepit is our innovative, patent pending storage architecture. All data protected by Keepit is stored and protected by the hash-chained object store developed by Keepit.

This key component is massively scalable, and the underlying object store was created from the ground up specifically to support the Keepit workload.

Our storage architecture is built using a blockchain-like structure which opens up for verification of backup set consistency and authenticity that is simply not feasible using older technology.

Physical Media Restore -PMR

Certain customers require a copy of their data on-premise despite all the great reasons for moving the backup of cloud services to the cloud. We wish to support those customers with a solution.

With the Keepit PMR appliance, you can maintain a continuous and time-delayed copy of your user objects on a physical or virtual appliance running on your own network in your infrastructure.

PMR will download any updates to your data set and place them in a simple file structure as far as possible (note that some primary workloads are better suited for this than others). The appliance can serve the full dataset as a simple network drive for easy access when

needed.

The PMR can give you this last, physical copy of your dataset, that will be with you on your premises regardless of what happens to the Internet, to Keepit, and to the primary workload providers. PMR is a paid, additional service from Keepit.
