Docusign backup coverage

Backup and restore scope

This version does not support custom backup or restore configurations. All data in the Docusign instance will be included in any backup or full restore operation.

Restore limitations

Signing group members

The restore process for members within Signing Groups is limited to a maximum of 200 members.

Envelopes

  • Keepit's Docusign backup includes envelopes, documents, metadata, and audit trails. However, it does not offer a "restore" function for envelopes — and this is intentional. This limitation is based on how Docusign's platform and API are designed. Once an envelope is sent, it enters a legally binding signature workflow. Docusign does not permit envelopes to be reinserted into this workflow or reverted to a previous state. Any attempt to "restore" an envelope would effectively require restarting the entire signing process, which undermines the original timeline, sequence, and compliance integrity of the agreement.
  • Completed envelopes include their own audit certificate, ensuring the full history of the agreement is preserved.
  • Metadata is available for reference or archival compliance.
