Generate a backup integrity report

Stay on top of your data protection by generating backup integrity reports that highlight recurrently skipped items — content that may not be getting backed up as expected.

This feature analyzes data from the last 5 backups to detect potentially vulnerable items. If specific folders, files, or objects are repeatedly skipped across these backups, they’ll be flagged.

Backup integrity reports help you identify items that are frequently skipped during backup, understand the scope and risk of incomplete backup coverage, and take proactive action before critical data is lost.

When reports are available

Backup integrity reports become available when recurrently skipped items are detected for a connector.

On the Data Protection Dashboard, you’ll see a "Needs Attention" notification along with the number of recurrently skipped items displayed in the Backup Integrity card.

If you are viewing all connectors, the count will include recurrently skipped items across all connectors. Generating a report from this view will aggregate skipped items from all connectors.

To generate a report for a specific connector, select it from the dashboard dropdown before downloading.

Generate a backup integrity report

1. Open the Data Protection Dashboard.

2. Locate the Backup Integrity card.

3. Click the download icon in the upper-right corner of the card.

The report will download as a CSV file to your default download folder.

What's in the report

Type: The name of the skipped item

Path: The location of the item within the backup

Size: The size of the item

Updated: The last time we tried to back up the item

How to use the report

Use the report to review skipped items and evaluate their importance.

Items with large sizes are likely more important. Items with a size of 0 may be less critical.

For deeper analysis, check your backup job reports from the Job Monitor page. These reports include skip reasons for each item.

If additional assistance is required, you can contact Support and share the list of skipped items for review. To help Support process your request more quickly, please include only the items you are most concerned about.

Troubleshooting report generation

If you receive an error while generating a report, it may be due to a large data set causing a timeout. Try generating reports per connector instead of for all at once.

This issue is temporary and will be addressed in an upcoming update.
