We back up the published (Live) version of Power Apps Canvas Apps. Draft or non-published changes are not supported due to Power Platform API limitations. Unpublished changes remain in the app’s most recent editor state and are not exposed through supported APIs. Once an app is published, it becomes part of what we can reliably capture and restore.
This behavior is consistent with how Microsoft Power Apps handles app exports, which only include the published version.
