What counts as a seat in a Power Platform / Dynamics 365 backup
What is a seat
A seat is the metric Keepit uses to measure your consumption of our services. Each seat you purchase represents one licensed user.

Requirements for a user to be counted as one seat
- User must be an active user under a Dynamics 365 subscription
- Dynamics 365 Sales
- Dynamics 365 Customer Service
- Dynamics 365 Field Service
- Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation
- Dynamics 365 Marketing
- If the user is in multiple Dynamics 365 applications (modules), we count the user just once
Power Platform
Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages are bundled together as a single offering. You don't purchase or license them separately — when you back up Power Platform, all three are included.
Power Platform backup is tenant-scoped. Keepit counts seats as an aggregate of your Microsoft 365 tenant's license count, not by individual Power Platform users, apps, or capacity licenses.
Power Platform doesn't distinguish between seat types. Your Power Platform seat count equals your total Microsoft 365 seat count — the sum of all Full, Light, Faculty, and Student seats in your tenant. For more information, see What counts as a seat in a Microsoft 365 connector.
Note: There's no separate seat counting logic for Power Platform on Education licenses. Education tenants follow the same M365 aggregate seat count as standard tenants.
