Understanding recurrently skipped items for SharePoint content storage

Overview

When backing up SharePoint, you may see thousands of "skipped sites" with paths like /contentstorage/CSP_GUID. These are not actual SharePoint sites -- they're storage containers automatically created by Microsoft apps. Microsoft locks these containers by design for apps like Microsoft Loop for example.

Keepit tries to back them up but gets "Site Collection is locked" errors. After 5 attempts, they show up in your Recurrently Skipped Items report. This is expected behavior, not a backup failure.

Impact on Your Reports

Your reports may show an increased number of SharePoint sites in the skipped items.

You can safely ignore these entries. They don't represent actual backup gaps.
If you'd like to stop seeing them in your reports, contact Keepit Support and we can filter them out for you.
