Create a secure shares policy

As a Master Admin, you can enforce security measures for all secure shares created within the account.

Create a secure shares policy

1. In the lower-left corner, click your account profile, then select Account info.

2. Open the Security tab and go to the Secure shares section.

3. Enable any combination of the following requirements:

  • Require password protection — all secure shares must be secured with a password.
  • Require expiration date — all secure shares must have an expiration date that doesn't exceed the maximum duration you set.
  • Require SSO authentication — all secure shares must be accessed via single sign-on (SSO).
  • Require trusted IP restriction — access to secure shares must be limited to trusted IP addresses.

4. Click Save.

What happens when a new secure share is created?

Once a policy is in place, users can't create secure shares that don't comply with it. If a user attempts to create a share that violates the policy, a notification will inform them of the specific requirements they need to meet.

What happens to existing secure shares?

Any existing secure shares that don't comply with the newly enforced policy will automatically become inaccessible.

How to check secure share compliance

On the Secure shares page, a status label indicates whether each secure share complies with the current security policy.
